What do I need to do when ordering a firearm over the Internet:
If you place an order online and have it shipped to us please send us an email and let us know. We do have certain restrictions and typically do not do multiple handgun sales/transfers. We are an appointment only business. The business is owned and operated by a dpeuty sheriff who works full time and has varying hours. Please call prior to showing up as he might not be there to make your transfer.
Steps for ordering online:
Place your order online with your seller. If your seller is Bud's or another company that already has our FFL there is nothing more for you to do than notify us preferably before placing your order.
If we are not already on file with your seller, email their information email address, fax number, your order number or anything else they require to us and we will fax them a copy of our FFL.
If your seller is a private individual without an FFL, they will need to send a copy of their driver's license prior to your firearm being transferred to you.
Once your firearm arrives it will be logged in and you will be notified by email or phone. Make sure you contact us prior to placing your order and give us this information. Sometimes we receive firearms with no information as to who they are for.
Once your appointment has been made with us you can come in and fill out the proper paperwork. Make sure you have a current in state (Alabama) driver's license. Once the paperwork is completed your information will be run through the FBI NICS system. If you come back with a Proceed you are good to go. We charge $30 for each firearm transferred. On multiple longuns along with a single firearm, we charge $30 for the first firearm and $10 for each additional. We do not do multiple handgun transfers as a rule.
If you come back from the NICs check with a delay you will leave your firearm with us until a final response is obtained or until the proper waiting period has elapsed. This is generally three business days from the date and time your NICs check is initiated.
If you come back with a deny status you will leave the firearm with us and can either contact your seller to send us a return label or pay us to return your firearm. You can also file with the FBI to see why you are denied and to see if you can be reinstated.
If you have any other questions please feel free to email us.
